Having got engaged in Southwold in November of 2016, we decided we really wanted to get married in Suffolk despite living in London. A set of our parents live in a village local to Bruisyard Country Estate and suggested we had a look around. Fortunately, one of their Open Day events was coming up and we visited the venue.

We knew instantly, that we could see ourselves along with all of our favourite people, celebrate our big day here. The Barn was set up for a wedding and we fell in love with the place. I particularly enjoyed the fact that we could have hay bales added to the grass lawn for guests to sit on after the ceremony – such a beautiful setting to look back on the Barn and House. We also loved the idea that our close friends and family could stay with us the night before and after the wedding too as the majority of our guests were travelling from London.

Needless to say, we booked the venue for July 2018 and the planning process was seamless. Katie was just an email or phone call away and despite living 150 miles away, we didn’t once feel stressed or worried about planning our wedding. We visited the venue once more to try the food and that was the only stressful thing – we wanted to have it all because it was so delicious!

Our guests also commented on how accommodating the chef was and the evening pizza oven went down a storm! We also organised a BBQ at the house through Katie and a big cooked breakfast for the morning after the wedding – much needed and gave us one less thing to have to think about.

Katie was also really helpful in advising us of recommended suppliers. Things like the DJ with Dreamwave Events and our Florist, Moat Farm Flowers.

Our wedding day was typically the hottest day of the year, and the staff were fantastic. They were so relaxed and made sure our guests were comfortable. Having access to the barn the day before was really useful too. We truly had the best day of our lives and Team Bruisyard are to thank for that.”
