The bruisyard team are exceptional, they run everything like clockwork but make it feel effortless

In August 2023, nearly two years before our wedding, we visited Bruisyard for the first time on our hunt for wedding venues. As we turned into the drive and saw the hall in the distance, with the neatly cut grass and the charm of the barn ahead, our hearts filled with excitement and giddiness. Something just felt right.

When we walked into the barn, we were struck by the high ceilings, the wooden beams, and that perfect mix of cosiness and space. Within minutes we were already picturing our wedding aisle, the tables in the breakfast room, and how the day might unfold. A quick stroll up to the hall sealed the deal. The beautiful rooms seemed to go on forever and it was exactly what we had hoped for, with enough space for our overseas family to stay and celebrate with us for the whole weekend. And that kitchen! They say it is the heart of a home, and we could instantly imagine our post wedding debrief breakfast there, surrounded by crumbs, coffee, and laughter.

By that point, we had already seen a few venues and wedding planning was starting to feel like a second job. But as we drove away, we turned to each other and said, “Okay, on the count of three, say your favourite venue. One, two, three…” and in unison said, “Bruisyard!” We laughed, knowing we had found the one.

Fast forward to May 2025, the sun was shining on what turned out to be the most perfect weekend, a rare stroke of luck in a rainy spring. We said yes to each other, surrounded by everything and everyone we love. It is a day we will replay in our minds forever. And as two self confessed foodies, we can confirm that the food was incredible, truly the cherry on top of a perfect weekend.

What we will say is that the Bruisyard team are exceptional, they run everything like clockwork but make it feel effortless. From our first email to the final goodbye, Katie, Ruth, Ellie, and Kate were kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making everything perfect.
