ASHLEIGH & TOM
As we wandered around outside and looked out across the lawn to the bridge, we looked at each other and just knew
From the moment we visited Bruisyard on an open day in February 2024, we knew this was the venue for us!
As soon as we stepped into the barn, we fell in love with its rustic charm. Those beams! It was a beautiful sunny day, and the rays were streaming through the Banqueting Hall windows. The layout was ideal and flowed so well. We really liked that the wedding breakfast can be held in a separate room from the ceremony room, so that this could all be set up ahead of time and wouldn’t disturb guests.
As we wandered around outside and looked out across the lawn to the bridge, we looked at each other and just knew we had to sit down and discuss dates!
Originally, we had not considered hiring the hall and turning this into a longer celebration, but after sitting down to discuss availability with Ruth, we had a walk up to have a look around. Just wow! It was breathtaking, what an incredible space. With many family and friends travelling from Yorkshire the house would serve a great purpose in having our nearest and dearest with us for the full weekend.
The planning process was seamless. Ruth and the team were extremely helpful and very responsive to our many questions and could not be more accommodating. We really enjoyed the tasting evening, which not only allowed you to experience different aspects of the menu, but meet other couples and discuss ideas and the process as a whole.
We married on March 1st 2025 and what a day it was! It was everything we could’ve asked for and more. The sun shone from start to finish and the day was flawless.
The Sir John Rous suite was the perfect place to get ready with the girls. We really appreciated Ellie checking in on us in the morning to see if we needed anything or had any last-minute questions. Throughout the day the team were so reassuring and attentive, even asking with an emergency dress clean pre walking into the wedding breakfast!
We are still to this day receiving compliments from friends and family as to how special the day was, due to the most amazing venue, food and of course the team.
We feel so lucky to have been able to have Bruisyard as our venue and wish we could relive the day all over again!
